Oftentimes, through day-to-day and training activities, joints stop moving the way that they should. This can manifest in back and neck pain, poor performance, uneven gaits, lack of impulsion and poor attitude. This is because improperly moving joints can create abnormal pressure and irritation on the nerves and soft tissues they are in contact with, resulting in a restricted range of motion and sometimes lameness. If left uncorrected these restrictions can lead to chronic stiffness and pain.

Contrary to some people’s belief, Chiropractic is not replacing a "bone out of place" or putting a bone "back in place" but rather using a specific high velocity, low amplitude thrust to restore a joint’s natural range of motion.

Motion Equine Chiropractic Services

Dr. Pedersen is passionate about helping animals achieve their maximum health and performance potential, regardless of their discipline, or level of training. By assessing and detecting where motion is restricted, she then uses manual manipulations to restore proper motion. Through short controlled thrusts in specific directions, chiropractic adjustments help restore normal motion and nerve function in the spine and limbs.

Regular chiropractic adjustments reduce pain, improve mobility and allow the nervous system and body to function optimally by restoring equilibrium to the equine body. This in turn prevents injuries and improves overall health and performance.

VSMT can help to reverse mild physical damage and slow the progression of degenerative conditions, making it an ideal, non-invasive treatment that compliments the overall management strategy of your equine athletes. When performed correctly, by trained individuals, chiropractic care is very safe for your horse.

Adjustments can significantly increase mobility, comfort and quality of life for pleasure horses, geriatrics, and horses recovering from injury or illness.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have regarding the use of VSMT or chiropractic care for your horse.
